I believe mental health is an ever-changing journey and sometimes we need a guide for support. I consider it an honour to be your guide, as we work together to consider the whole person. In collaboration, we can explore your unique needs and the experiences that shape who you are.
I have worked in mental health for 10-years predominately with children, youth, young adults, families, and those within the 2SLGBTQIA+ population. I specialize in these populations with a focus on trauma, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, identity, stress, suicidal thought, and self-harm.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, growing my plant collection, reading, cooking, traveling to new places, and binging my favourite shows.

I received my MA in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) certified by the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario.
I am passionate about supporting you in your journey to address barriers that may prevent you from personal growth and happiness and I look forward to working collaboratively with you and working to ensure you feel heard, understood, and inspired.
I believe that the therapeutic relationship is the foundation for discovery, healing, and change. If you’re having difficulty dealing with your present situation, or feel stuck in a painful pattern of behavior or feeling, psychotherapy may help you recognize this and take small steps toward positive change. Through the therapeutic process, I integrate various counselling theories and techniques that are tailored to your uniqueness.
In my free time, I enjoy playing soccer, dancing Bachata, reading, spending time with friends and family, travelling, long hikes and yoga.

My name is Vandya Puri, Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and member in good standing with the Ontario Association of Mental Health Professionals (OAMHP). I hold a Master’s Degree in Applied Counselling Psychology from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, India.
I am an individual who believes in supporting someone in their journey towards self-awareness and better mental health. I like to meet clients where they are in their journey and work though it with them in a collaborative manner. I chose to become a Psychotherapist because it gives me the opportunity to learn from another human being at a deeper and more conscious level. There are a lot of unpleasant life experiences one goes through in their life. As a Psychotherapist I feel I get the opportunity to help them have a smooth transition into the different roads of their journey. As a client centred practitioner I use varied forms of therapy including, CBT, Solution Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Mindfulness based practises in an integrated manner. I have an experience of working with a varied range if population including, children, adolescents, young adults, older adults and families. I use my knowledge of therapeutic skills, and clients concerns to tailor their individual sessions.
My experience entails working with anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem and awareness, life transitions, grief, work-related stresses, and working on own development. Using my authentic and empathic self, I choose to create a safe space for my clients. I practise in English, Hindi and Punjabi.
In my free time, I enjoy listening to music, spending quality time with my family and friends. I enjoy doing yoga and going for walks by myself. It helps me rejuvenate and introspect.

What's your story? We all have one, but sometimes we don't have a safe space to process and share it. Through respectful and honest conversations, I want to establish mutual trust, hear your story, understand your experience, and help you explore what next steps may be right for you. Whether it's stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, decision-making, relational issues, or other personal struggles, I believe positive change is best accomplished with support from others. Using an integrative, individualized approach, we'll work together to discover ways you can move towards confidence, healing, peace, and purpose.
A bit about me - I am completing my MA in Counselling Psychology and am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. I also have a BA in Family and Social Relations and a BEd in Primary/Junior instruction. I have been certified with the Ontario College of Teachers since 2006.
I have travelled extensively, lived and worked abroad for several years, and appreciate cultural diversity and learning from others' experiences. I am actively involved as a volunteer in my community and am particularly passionate about fighting against modern-day slavery. I enjoy quality time with my family, browsing in bookstores, and a good cup of coffee. I also love the outdoors, especially when it's warm and sunny.

I believe mental health care is not a one-size fits all. Everyone experiences mental health concerns at some point in life. That experience is different for everybody and care must be personalized with considerations of the wholeness of the person and their circumstances.
In collaboration with you, we will gain understanding and awareness of the root cause of your concerns and find the appropriate solutions using different modalities of treatment. Together, we will create an empathetic and safe space that will promote your self-discovery and healing.
I focus on youth and young adults from diverse backgrounds who are experiencing burnout, chronic stress, anxiety, depression, BIPOC/cultural concerns, trauma, anger issues, grief, resentment, self-esteem issues, intimate partner violence, life transitions and interpersonal conflict.
In my free time, I love dancing, working out (strength-training and HIIT), cooking and creating recipes, game nights with friends and family, travelling and Netflix binging sessions.
